Abstract
This article examines how weak and ineffective political practices contribute to the persistence and deepening of poverty. The author argues that poor governance, lack of accountability, short-term political interests, and policy inconsistency undermine economic planning and social welfare initiatives. The article highlights the negative impact of politicization, corruption, and institutional failure on resource distribution, employment generation, and poverty reduction. It emphasizes the necessity of ethical leadership, inclusive politics, and strong institutions to achieve sustainable development and social equity.
