| dc.description.abstract | This article discusses the significance and application of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009 in Bangladesh. Given that the number of consumers is virtually the same as the total population (16.43 crore, plus pregnant women bringing the total to 16.58 crore) , consumer rights are inseparably connected to all people in the country. Many Bangladeshis with limited incomes are frequently cheated while buying quality products. Furthermore, factors like decreased supply, difficulties in processing imported goods, and the greediness of black marketers and hoarders lead to frightfully high product prices, which puts consumer rights at risk. Food adulteration is a particularly acute problem, violating the basic human right to food and contributing to serious health issues like cancer, according to WHO research. | |
