Abstract

This article ''উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে রোবো টেক অলিম্পিয়াড অনুষ্ঠিত'' reports by the daily Prothom Alo on 21st June 2025 on the Fifth International Robo‑Tech Olympiad 2025, a two‑day robotics competition hosted by Uttara University’s School of Science & Engineering in collaboration with Robo Tech Valley. Featuring enthusiastic participation from young technophiles across Bangladesh and abroad, the event brought together 150 teams from 70 educational institutions, including universities, colleges, and schools. Competitions spanned 12 categories—such as Robo Soccer, Line‑Following Robots, Robo Wars, Drone Racing, and Inter‑University Programming Contest—alongside project showcases, idea competitions, sumo robot races, and quizzes. Prize money totaling BDT 600,000 was awarded, with the top 40 students recognized. According to Professor Gaur Govinda Goswami, Vice‑Provost of Uttara University, the Olympiad aims to cultivate technology‑driven skills, creative thinking, and practical problem‑solving amongst youth. Distinguished guests included Abdul Hai Sarkar, Chairman of Purvani Group & Founder Chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC; noted computer scientist and columnist Mohammad Kaikobad; Pirojpur Science & Technology University Vice‑Chancellor Md. Shahidul Islam; and IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter representatives.
