Abstract
Umaia Ibn Abis Salt was a talented poet of the Arabic Literature. According to historians, he was born in the famous Thaqif dynasty towards the middle of the 6th century. An extraordinary genious and talent emerged in him even in his boyhood. Impressed by his ardent eagerness for the attainment of knowledge, everybody loved him. Poet Umaia grew up with his faith in one creator from his boyhood. That is why all his poems are sacredly free from the evil culture of the Jahili age, polytheism, shirk and bid'at. To the critics of Arabic Literature he is known as a fore-runner of an individualistic syntax embedded in religious sentiment. He kept his sense of true subject matter infact in his poetry and presented it properly in appropriate diction. At the same time the poet has organized his religious subjects in lucid words and language and hinted at a religious spirit of life. Especially evident in his poems is the excellent description of the great creator Allah's monotheism and glory, the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the world, the next world, angels and Allah's great seat and so on. All these things will be a new source of inspiration in the hearts of those who believe in the spirit of religion and love literature. This exsay makes an overall explanation of Allah's glory and monotheism in the light of Umaia's poems.
