Activities of General Banking: An Overview of Bank Asia Limited

Abstract

This paper evaluates the general banking activities of private commercial banks in Bangladesh, focusing on Bank Asia Limited, Uttara Branch. It uses both primary and secondary data gathered through observation, interviews, and official documents. The study highlights the bank’s origin, services, and technological advancements, including online and mobile banking. It outlines the structure of the report, covering the background of banking in Bangladesh, an overview of BAL, and its general banking functions. A SWOT analysis and performance review of the Uttara Branch are included. The report also shares the author's internship experience, observed issues, and suggestions for improvement. Overall, it critically reviews the operational efficiency of BAL’s general banking division.
