Uttara University honours 82 faculty members and staff for research contributions .

Organised by the Centre for Research and Training (CRT), the ceremony was held at the university's Multipurpose Hall on 14 September 2026, according to a press release.
The recipients were recognised for research indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus in 2025, and they received research and publication grants along with certificates acknowledging their scholarly contributions.
Uttara University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha attended as the chief guest. In contrast, Icddr,b Senior Scientist Dr Firdausi Qadri attended as the special guest, and the organisation's HR Advisor Dr Md Musharrof Hossain was the guest of honour. CRT Director Professor Dr Md Sultanul Islam chaired the programme, and Uttara University Treasurer Professor Haspia Bashirullah, CRT Associate Director Dr Saleh Ahmad and other executive members of the centre were also present.
Around 300 full-time faculty members attended the ceremony, underscoring the university's efforts to strengthen research, innovation and scholarly publication. Three researchers received special awards for their research and publication performance in 2025.
Nur Ahammad received the Best High-Impact Publication Award, Dr Md Shafiul Alam Chowdhury received the Most Published Paper Award, and Md Hanif Munshi received the Best Early Career Researcher Award. Presenting the university's research trends and achievements, Dr Saleh Ahmad highlighted growth in its research and publication activities.
He said the number of Scopus-indexed publications had increased substantially from previous years, reflecting a greater emphasis on research productivity and impact.
Uttara University holds Civil Engineering Alumni Reunion 2026.

The Civil Engineering Alumni Association of Uttara University organised the "Civil Engineering Alumni Reunion 2026" on campus, bringing together former and current students, faculty members, university administrators, and distinguished guests.
The day-long gathering celebrated the enduring bond between the university and its alums while bringing together different generations of the civil engineering department, according to a press release.
The event commenced with a joint tree-planting initiative by the chief guest, Member of Parliament for Dhaka-18 SM Jahangir Hossain, and Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University Professor Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, symbolising a shared commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Jahangir formally inaugurated the reunion by releasing pigeons.
Addressing the gathering, he underscored the importance of such alum events, noting that they strengthen the relationship between the institution and its graduates and offer a platform to share experiences and achievements with current students. He also acknowledged the vital role of alums in enhancing the university's reputation and advancement.
In her remarks, Lekha highlighted the university's continuous efforts to ensure academic excellence, research, innovation, and a student-friendly learning environment.
Describing the alums as an integral part of the institution, Lekha said their professional milestones and active engagement enrich the university's identity and future journey. She commended the Civil Engineering Alumni Association's initiatives and assured continued institutional support for future endeavours.

অত্যন্ত আনন্দঘন পরিবেশ ও বিভিন্ন আয়োজনের মধ্য দিয়ে উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে সমাপ্ত হলো সপ্তাহব্যাপী সর্ববৃহৎ আন্তঃবিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতা 'ভিসি স্পোর্টস উইক ২০২৬'। গত ৩ আগস্ট ২০২৬ তারিখে বর্ণাঢ্য পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান এবং মনমুগ্ধকর সাংস্কৃতিক সন্ধ্যার মধ্য দিয়ে টুর্নামেন্টটির আনুষ্ঠানিক সমাপ্তি ঘটে।
শিক্ষার্থীদের নেতৃত্ব, সততা ও সুস্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিতকরণে মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইয়াসমীন আরা লেখা-র নিরবচ্ছিন্ন প্রচেষ্টার স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ টুর্নামেন্টটি তাঁর উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসর্গ করা হয়। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অফিস অব স্টুডেন্ট অ্যাফেয়ার্স-এর অধীনে স্পোর্টস ক্লাবের সার্বিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় গত ২৭ জুলাই টুর্নামেন্টটি শুরু হয়। এতে ক্রিকেট, ফুটবল, ব্যাডমিন্টন, দাবা, ক্যারম এবং টেবিল টেনিস—এই ছয়টি ইভেন্টে বিভিন্ন একাডেমিক বিভাগের ৫৪০ জন ছাত্র-ক্রীড়াবিদ প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করেন।
উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে বার্ষিক গবেষণা ও প্রকাশনা পুরস্কার ২০২৬ প্রদান

গবেষণা ও প্রকাশনায় অনন্য অবদানের জন্য শিক্ষক ও গবেষকদের স্বীকৃতি জানাতে উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে ‘বার্ষিক গবেষণা ও প্রকাশনা পুরস্কার ২০২৬’। গতকাল ১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর (সোমবার) বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাসের মাল্টিপারপাস হলে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে ৮২ জন শিক্ষক ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীকে সম্মাননা, অর্থ পুরস্কার এবং সনদ প্রদান করা হয়।
বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ‘সেন্টার ফর রিসার্চ অ্যান্ড ট্রেনিং’ (সিআরটি) আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইয়াসমীন আরা লেখা। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন আইসিসিডিআর,বি-র সিনিয়র সায়েন্টিস্ট ড. ফিরদৌসী কাদরী এবং মানবসম্পদ উপদেষ্টা ড. মো. মোশাররফ হোসেন। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন সিআরটি-এর পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মো. সুলতানুল ইসলাম।

আবহমান স্মৃতি আর উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশের মধ্য দিয়ে উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে ‘সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যালামনাই রিইউনিয়ন ২০২৬’। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যালামনাই অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের উদ্যোগে গেল শুক্রবার (১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) উত্তরা ক্যাম্পাসে এই পুনর্মিলনী আয়োজিত হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে টেকসই উন্নয়ন ও পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণের বার্তা নিয়ে প্রাঙ্গণে বৃক্ষরোপণ করেন প্রধান অতিথি ঢাকা-১৮ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য এস. এম. জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন এবং উত্তরা ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ইয়াসমিন আরা লেখা। পরে আকাশে কবুতর উড়িয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে অনুষ্ঠানের উদ্বোধন করা হয়।
